Always love coming to The Ship with friends & family. We are looked after really well by all the staff, the foods always excellent and in such great relaxed surroundings. Thanks to everyone at The Ship for always making my visits a pleasure.

The Ship's got to be the BEST Country Dining Pub for miles. Love everything about it and I'm always well looked after. LOVE IT! Jodie, xxx

We visited The Ship on a gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon and spent a lovely few hours sat in the gorgeous beer garden watching the kids play (Happy kids = happy parents!). The Ship is a very stylish establishment yet the staff are very welcoming and approachable. We ordered the Galley Chicken, the Sunday Roast and Cumberland rings and mash for the kids. All were very delicious and every plate was cleared! Fantastic surrondings, great food and superb swift service, I would highly recommend and will definitely return :)

Enjoyed an excellent meal in a busy but relaxed atmosphere. The staff were freindly and efficient. Make sure you get there early on a Friday or Saturday or there might be a wait for a table to come free.

A group of 8 friends went there on Saturday 25 June. Despite the place being very busy we were greeted immediately by Jonny, the very friendly & professional manager. He found us a table within 10 minutes. We chose from the main menu and the specials board and everything which everyone ordered was of the highest quality. The service was very good and the price was a pleasant surprise. Including drinks & coffees it came to just over £20 per person. We would definitely go back.

I arrived at 19:00 with my girlfriend and we were seated and looked after very efficiently, we ordered our meals and the service was fantastic and we were also asked during the meal if we were happy and of course it was a yes, all the bar staff and waiting on staff were very polite and pleasant and we are both looking forward to coming back again to sample another superb dish at the ship!!

Step Up To The Plate Event Night...
Under terrific leadership, The Ship at Elswick has become a vibrant, buzzing eatery, with lots of "young trendys" like us dining there regularly. The food style is rather more than pub grub and is thoroughly satisfying. My favourite is their fish pie which has loads of juicy prawns & local Fleetwood Fish.
The Ship at Elswick did a fabulous job of this sell out event night. We we're looked after beautifully & the food was to die for!
Well done to all of the team at The Ship.

Hate to sound boring - I have no affiliation whatsoever to the licensees of 'The Ship' but, further to my entry of December 2007, on July 7th 2008, whilst my daughter was over from New Zealand with two of our grandsons and along with my localised son and daughter in law and our other two grandsons we all dined extraordinarily well on the locally produced 'fare'.
Our grandchildren were equally well behaved as they were in December thanks mainly due to the lovely garden 'play-area' on a beautiful summer's evening and, whilst I can say that all of our family were more than satisfied with their meals offered by understanding, polite and efficient service, my 'Fish un Chips' were just the same as before - Perfect!

Recommended by some friends a couple of months ago, since then we have been back three times, and today have booked for Christmas day lunch for the family. The food and service has been five star on each visit.

After a long meandering drive across from Clitheroe, it was a wonderful surprise to come across The Ship! From the moment we went through the door, it was a series of pleasant experiences! Many thanks to all involved!
We will be returning, and bringing special friends very soon!

Very impressed, was recommended by friends to come and eat and was delighted with the warm freindlines of your staff and efficient service they provided. The food was very well presented and tasted brill.
Well done for the food and also the staff training you give is impresive.

My wife and family are 'officianados' of good family food and hospitality toward well-behaved children, (can't abide children running riot) whereas 'Bohemian Me' am the ultimate critic of 'fish un chips'.
On 28th December 2007 we visited this lovely place (originating from Lytham and now living in North Lancashire, the old 'Ship' was a 'stamping ground pub' for me in the sixties) with our family consisting of a 'one-year-old' a 'five-year-old', a couple of late something 'thirty-year-olds' and a couple of wrinkly sixty plus. The 'one-year-old' grandson was catered for on a 'high-chair' by food provided by his mother without any rankle from the establishment and apart from me, the other four of the rest of our party were delighted by their meals.
That leaves me, the 'officianado' of 'fish un chips'. I can but say that the whole early evening was magnificent and that the 'fish un chips' we're second to none. (If you were to sell fish and chips in Blackpool, Whitby or even Burton by the Water, you would make a fortune) Thank you so very much for such a wonderful plate of proper Lancashire food, for your service, your 'Staffs' pleasant attentiveness and indeed the fact that not only were our grandchildren 'well catered for' but that they were also obediently quiet and polite throughout the whole of our stay with you!
My wife and I have recommended your establishment ever since.

"Just a quick note to say thanks for the excellent service we received when we came to The Ship last evening great food, great atmosphere. Our visitors really enjoyed themselves. As a company we hope to be eating with you again in the near future."

"I've only been to the ship twice, both with my Father, who is disabled and in a wheelchair. Even then it was only by chance in the first occasion, because my Father being of a certain age, likes to go to Bonds. Well fortunately for us, Bonds was actually shut on this occasion so on the way out of Elswick we spotted the Ship and decided to give you a try.
We did not regret it at all. Two young ladies have served us lunch on both our visits so far, with friendly and efficient service and so very welcoming they were too.
Good staff such as these really make a difference to the overall experience of a meal out. Particularily for my Father who is rather self conscious about his wheelchair, they made us feel most welcome, in fact we were made to feel like regular customers right from the outset... which we now certainly intend to become.
The fact that we came back the week after for another meal, says how much we enjoyed ourselves. My Father doesn't get out as much as he could do now, and its over 60 miles roundtrip for us to come to you, but it is well worth it... and yes at last real Chips!!! Well done... so many places now serve up frozen chip pretenders!!!... Ha Ha!! So glad to have the real things on offer again!
Congratulations on running a quality establishment, with lovely decor and atmosphere, friendly staff and good quality food at a reasonable price. We will certainly be back soon."
